She's been a big one! Harvest is on its last days

She's been a big one! Harvest is on its last days now - just a few dabs of the Chenin to go. Fruit has been outstanding this year with minimal disease pressure and dry conditions, but handled well by Jeremy and the team. The picking crew have been great with lots of laughs, french and japanese lessons and delicious smoko delights! 🍰

Hätsch has been busy in the winery singing soulful tunes like this to the ferments, bringing them to life as we watch the vineyard around us turn autumn yellows and reds. And, he has to make room next to the large library stock of aged Pinot (for sale online!) stacked up at the back. I promise I will make him some new shelves.

A wee catchup from the last few days which have be

A wee catchup from the last few days which have been big ones! Clipping off the juicy bunches for @mahiwines @deepdownwines @themarlborist @ashleighbarrowmanwine and, us. Mixed in there our infamous vigneron Jeremy had his birthday, the frost fans kicked into gear and we managed to get the winery processing 943, 667 and 115 clones.

Grapes look lovely and a pleasure to pick. Great team, great time of year! Oh, and we got 15/15 on the Stuff quiz today - icing on le cake!

Just shy of a ton for us today - things are looking good! Easing into it is not a luxury we are used to, though getting to test all the equipment and process without the usual pressure of a big pick is nice!!

Lovely Saturday morning at the office picking for @corofin.nz 🍇 ! Grapes looking delish, as was smoko's cake according to RAF. 12/15 on the Stuff quiz lead by Jeremy - turns out you use 3 fingers to pull back an arrow in a bow... we reasoned a thumb wasn't a true finger!

Some skilled bin throwing in the mix, pyramid creations and classic Marlborough gusts bringing the house down. Good fun, not sure we'll trust @ashleighbarrowmanwine structural knowledge in future!! 🤪
